CO-creating COastal Resilience (COCOR)
The CO-creating COastal Resilience (COCOR) project combines scientific monitoring, citizen science and community engagement to investigate coastal change and the effectiveness of dune restoration at Tyrella Beach, Co. Down.
Coastal Monitoring and Adaptation Plan (CMAP)
CMAP is a € 9.6 M EU-funded project to help tackle the problems of climate change impacts on the Irish coast covering Counties Sligo, Donegal, Londonderry, Antrim, Down and Louth.
Coastal Forum Working Group
Along with relevant local councils, Ulster University, the National Trust and the Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute, GSNI participates in the Northern Ireland Coastal Forum Working Groups, which is jointly led by Defra and the Department for Infrastructure.
Northern Ireland Coastal Observatory
The Northern Ireland Coastal Observatory is a platform that has been created to collate, store, display and share coastal data. GSNI has contributed geological information for the coast that will improve the evidence base and awareness of coastal change to help improve its management.
UK Gravel Barriers Project
GSNI is supporting the British Geological Survey in delivering the UK Gravel Barriers project, to understand the complex interactions and feedbacks between the sediment composition of the shallow subsurface and nearshore morphodynamics in response to both storms and sea level change.
