Geohazards
Research
Shallow geohazards
GSNI monitors and assesses a range of shallow geohazards (geohazards that occur in the near surface), for example landslides, sinkholes and a range of hazards that occur as a consequence of superficial deposits, such as running sand.
Natural Hazards Partnership
GSNI contributes to the Natural Hazards Partnership, a UK-wide resilience task force comprising scientists and practitioners from across the natural hazard resilience space to improve readiness and responses to such events.
AGEO project
The Platform for Atlantic Geohazards Risk Management, or AGEO, project encouraged local communities to actively participate in geohazard monitoring and to enhance local capacity in risk management. GSNI established the Giant's Causeway and Carrickarede Citizens' Observatory as part of the initiative.
