Geoscience into policy

Research

GSNI plays an active role in shaping policy, research, and decision-making across Northern Ireland through participation in a wide range of government, local authority, and stakeholder groups. These engagements span key areas including climate adaptation, groundwater management, land use planning, energy, natural hazards, and UNESCO-designated sites. Through both leadership roles and membership, GSNI contributes scientific expertise, supports evidence-based policy, and strengthens collaboration across sectors to address environmental and societal challenges.

From 1 April 2026, all GSNI public responses will be available on this page.
