Groundwater resources
GSNI provides geoscientific advice and information to support stakeholders, including NI Water, with the development of groundwater as a sustainable resource for numerous sectors across Northern Ireland, including agri-food and energy.
Integrated catchment studies
We support the Northern Ireland Environment Agency with groundwater monitoring and sampling, contributing to river basin management and helping to protect, improve and promote the sustainable use of the water environment.
Catchment CARE
The Catchment CARE project aimed to improve freshwater quality in three cross-border river catchments through the development of water quality improvement projects. Fifty boreholes were sunk to monitor water quality and provide a platform for cross-border engagement and knowledge sharing.
